I want to speak
Who knew? Well, I guess I have always known. I love to talk (there’s a shocking admission) and I love to train, so speaking seems a perfect fit. Hubby is so supportive – a very good feeling.
Okay, so I’ve just started out. I’ve only had success. Will I feel the same when (not if) I bomb? I will try to keep both wins and losses in perspective. And I promise to give myself a break because I am new at this.
Tomorrow I have another engagement. I’m doing another ‘The Why of LinkedIn’ presentation. I like this subject because there is not a lot of this type of coverage for LinkedIn. There is so much on the ‘how’, but the reasons behind using this powerful tool are being lost in the tech-speak.
I saw it firsthand last week. I could tell by the looks on their faces they were goin to be hard to impress. They all had profiles. Of course, less than 20% had more than their name and current position. Honestly, they couldn’t tell me how to use LinkedIn and why it is important to have a complete profile. More importantly, they didn’t know why being selective with your connections is crucial. Most thought LinkedIn was a numbers game, not relationship building.
I guess that’s my job – to educate.
